Philip Smith - Chairman
Former Director of Treasury and International Investment with National Power plc, Philip, a qualified accountant, holds non executive roles with a number of quoted and private renewable energy companies in the UK and overseas, and is currently Chairman of Entrust, the UK Landfill Communities Fund regulator.
Bob Smith - CEO
Beginning as an offshore engineer, Bob spent 17yr in Oil & Gas operations with BP, before moving to renewable energy, where he was Chief Development Officer at BP Solar. A Chartered Engineer, Cambridge MA and Stanford MSc, Bob brings commercial leadership and a wealth of operations, projects and renewable power experience to the team.
Angela Robotham - Engineering Director
Angela led engineering, construction & operations for the only commercial scale tidal turbine in the world - MCT's SeaGen. A Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, she has over 30 years in engineering, beginning as an apprentice. Angela has experience in mining, printing and maritime, as well as last 7yr in wave and tidal power.
Marc Paish - CTO
Marc invented the Pulse Tidal concept in 1998 and has led the development of the technology. He has formed the technical partnerships needed, raised equity finance and secured grants to enable construction of a 100kw demonstration machine in the Humber Estuary, UK. He is an Environmental Science graduate, with a background in Physics.
Howard Nimmo - Commercial Director
Howard has fifteen years' experience in technical and general management in the brewing and food industries. At Pulse he has formed the commercial parnerships needed to develop the 100kW demonstration machine, raised equity and grant finance and secured the site in the Humber estuary. Howard has extensive experience in general management and led two successful small business start-ups before co-founding Pulse.
